Holland manufacturer plans to expand and add new jobs

Multi Packaging Solutions plans to expand its Holland-area facilities by up to 180 jobs with a four-year tax credit from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The package and label manufacturer nearly triple local employment — from 94 employees to 274. The company plans to create 63 jobs within a year and all 180 jobs by 2014.

Multi Packaging Solutions is experiencing growth with selling pharmaceutical cartons and labels. Well-known companies it packages for include Perrigo, Home Depot, Johnson & Johnson and Sony.

It will need to expand the Steketee-Van Huis facility in Holland and its Digital Imaging Group in Allegan, at a total cost of $5.3 million. The company plans to start construction in April and begin production in July.
